A home for the sound of the Atlantic crossing

Wave Collective Records was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as an electronic label with an accent no one else can claim: that of the Atlantic, at the exact point where Africa, Europe and America cross.

01

The place

The Canaries are not a postcard: they are a hinge. Africa a hundred kilometres away, Europe on the other side, America at the end of the crossing. Here the tribal and organic sound is not imported, it emanates from the geography. Black basalt, deep ocean, salt and Atlantic light. That is what the label is made of.

02

The origin

The label was founded in 2008 by Frank García, a Canarian DJ and producer with more than twenty years behind the decks. It started as a vehicle for his own music and grew into a home with its own catalogue, pressed month after month and distributed independently.

03

The pedigree

Twenty years can't be bought with a press release. Frank has released on landmark international house labels (Subliminal, by Erick Morillo, among others), has appeared on Ibiza compilations and has played alongside some of the big names in electronic music. That club credibility is what holds up every release.

04

The mission

The label looks to the future as a multi-artist home: two currents (the warm one of afro, organic and tribal house; the deep one of deep and melodic techno) and a flagship series, AMAZONAS, twelve singles that draw the bridge between the three continents. If your music sounds like this ocean, the door is open.
